For the less experienced, there are nursery slopes a kilometre from the hotel along with nearby hiking and biking trails. Later on guests can unwind in the steam bath and sauna or go for a swim in the heated outdoor swimming pool with an indoor entrance; there is also a supervised play area for children. For some well earned après ski, guest can have a drink in the bar or plan the next day's activities using the hotel's high speed Internet corner. Guests can also make use of the ski storage and free parking. The nearby picturesque town of Ellmau offers numerous restaurants, bars and cafes along with a leisure centre, bathing lake and the Hartkaiserbahn, Austria's longest mountain funicular railway. Innsbruck Kranebitten Airport is 86 kilometres away with an approximate driving time to the resort of one hour. Worgl train station is 18 kilometres from the hotel. The Hotel Hochfilzer is a family friendly, Tyrolean style residence spread over two buildings set in the centre of the Ellmau ski resort, one of the nine villages which make up the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental ski region.
